Biking
Sanibel
Island has over 25 miles of well-maintained bicycle paths
across the island. These wonderful paths bring you to deserted
beaches, island restaurants, shopping and directly to local
points of interest.
We
think that the best bicycle path is Wildlife Drive in the
J.N. "Ding"
Darling National Wildlife Refuge. It's a five-mile loop
that begins at the entrance to the Refuge on Sanibel-Captiva
Road. Along the way, you'll see loads of birds, native plants
and maybe even an alligator or two! Wildlife Drive is open
to cyclists from sunrise to sunset every day except Friday.
The entrance fee is $1 per cyclist. Click here
